Iftikhar Ahmed joins Multan Sultans in a swap deal with Rilee Rossouw - ICCKARACHI: Middle-order batter Iftikhar Ahmed has vowed to play the same brand of cricket for his new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, the Multan Sultans.PSL season nine witnessed another big trade as Quetta Gladiators’ Iftikhar joined the 2021 winners in a swap deal with Rilee Rossouw. Iftikhar, who has represented Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, and Islamabad United in the past, is set to wear Sultans' jersey this year, making him the first player to play for five different teams in the league. "I have played for different franchises and all of them have different thinking. Now, I will represent Multan which will be an honour," Iftikhar told GeoSuper.tv."Secondly, Rizwan is our captain over there, they are a champion team and I will look to enjoy more," he added.Meanwhile, Iftikhar opined he loves to be called 'chachu' and enjoyed the chants from the crowd."We used to see fans welcoming Shahid Afridi in such a way and the same they do for me," he maintained and added that he will look to entertain the Multan crowd, too, in their PSL home matches.Sultans now also have the first platinum pick instead of the Gladiators in the PSL 9 Draft, scheduled to take place on December 13 in Lahore.Earlier, the PSL saw one of the biggest trades in its history as Karachi Kings’ skipper Imad Wasim joined Islamabad United while Hasan Ali joined the 2020 PSL winners.
